During the course, you will read one novel and view one film that will portray New Orleans in a way intended by the writer and producer. Your job is to identify a theme of interest from the book and movie and conduct your own research to either validate or dispute that theme. Through this assignment you will be able to select a topic that appeals to you and then expand your research and knowledge about it. The assignment is worth 100 points and is due on the final day of class.
