Furniture Design Semester Journal ( Furniture Through Art Periods )

Order Description

– An A4 size
– research and select a furniture piece that pertains to each one of the eras specified.
(see requirements). Each image should be on a separate sheet. Each sheet should have a title indicating the
era. For each image you select, indicate:
– Year
– Material
– Name (if available)
– Designer (if available)
– Brief Description (observation and reflection by student. No copy/paste material).
– Reference
Selected images should be printed in color and free from distortions and pixilation.
-The time periods to include in the journal are as follows. You are required to include only one
image per era, however, you may include more if you wish to.
1) Prehistory ( could be Paleolithic, Neolithic , Bronze Age)
2) Ancient Egyptians
3) Ancient Greeks
4) Ancient Rome
5) Early Christian and Byzantine
6) Romanesque and Islamic ( could be Romanesque, Islamic Spain, Seljuk Empire, Safavid
Dynasty, Mughal Era)
7) Gothic
8) The Americas: (could be Mexico Classic , Mexico Post classic, Peru)
9) China : (could be Han Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty)
10) Renaissance (could be Early, High, Late Renaissance)
11) Baroque
12) Rococo
13) England (could be Elizabethan, Queen Anne, Late Georgian)
14) Neoclassical
15) Victorian
16) Arts & Crafts
17) Art Nouveau
18) Vienna Secession
19) De Stijl
20) Russian Constructivism
