Paper details:
700 words (or more) of original, organized, and flowing analytical discussion • An introductory sentence that reveals to your reader what your paper focuses on • A clear and strong thesis statement, which details your analytical stance • Developed discussion of argument and analysis • Absence of story summary; essay should provide an aspect of analytical approach and discussion • Initial analysis of novel that addresses a question from the suggested topics in the content area (if you come up with one on your own check with me for approval) • Inclusion of two valid secondary sources. • Correct MLA format (double-spacing, paragraph indents, margins, etc.) • A works cited page of your sources, using the handbook for correct MLA citing guidelines (no MS Word Bibliography tool) • Correct grammar and careful editing. Good use of style (no expletive phrasing, negative phrasing, passive voice, redundant/unnecessary words, and use of 3rd person only)
