Please read Chapter 3 from book Women’s Voices: Feminist Issues, Susan M. Shaw & Janet Lee (Authors) , McGraw-Hill Education, 2015.  (6th Edition) entitled “Learning Gender” and conduct the informal poll about ‘Tomboys & Sissies” on page 117.

Discuss the gendered boxes we use in terms of adjectives to describe both men and women (pictured on page 123).  What role does language play in shaping gendered behavior?

Talk about the intersectionality of gender and race and answer the five questions on page 180.
