You are the CFO for one of the largest insurance companies in the US. Your company just experienced its largest data breach in history. Your assignment is to type a media release regarding this breach for all news and media outlets to run and discuss with the public. Below are the details you know thus far. Much more research needs to be done by your companys analysts. Your release needs to address the facts, next steps your company needs to take, and plans to prevent this in the future. How do you relay this information while not creating mass panic? How do you help ensure the public will not lose all faith in your company?

Over 800,000 individual insured data may have been impacted.

The data breach may have impacted SSN, Health Information, and Personal Financial Information of your insured.

The breach probably occurred because you did not encrypt data as you should have.

Please post your media release on blackboard. While no company wants to ever deal with this issues, it is a reality of what could happen. I want each of you to post a response with question to another classmates release. The questions do not have to be answered.
