Read Tyler, Chapter 5: Documentation and Designation of Individual Historic Properties. In a 750 to 1250 word, illustrated essay, examine two buildings which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, one built before 1900 and one after. Find properties that have attributes in common. In your examination, consider the following questions:

• Is there an architectural style that is of particular interest and spans the 19th to 20th century, or that has been revived through architectural application?
• Is there a common use, or social trend in your choices?
• Analyze the importance of these buildings and why they were nominated to the National Register.
• Consider the current use of the buildings and identify what changes have occurred to their function and/or condition during their existence.
• Assess the degree of success that the National Register may have contributed to the preservation of each of the buildings.
• Assess the report itself. Was the report effective in portraying the necessary information regarding the building? In what ways could the report have been improved?

Provide photographs, illustrations, and/or graphics to support your arguments. Include APA formatted references for all sources cited, including quotations, figures, images, graphics, so forth.
