Using the analytical frameworks examined in the module (SCM, GCCs and GPNs), analyse how power relations shape and affect different actors in the coffee supply chain.

Project description
Before going into the discussion of this essay I would like an examination of the history of the coffee industry talking about dominant producers as well as the the International Coffee Agreement and the role of the organisation.

With regards to the title of the essay the abbreviations are as follows:

SCM – supply chain management
GCC – global commodity chains
GPN – global production networks.

I will also attach relevant readings which MUST be used in the essay. Especially the Ponte 2002 reading which is helpful and links to GCC.

Ensure to discuss the power relations between different actors in the supply chain – e.g. (supermarkets, producing countries, consuming countries, members of the ICA) and link it to the frameworks.

The structure of the essay should be as follows:

1) Introduction
2) History of the Coffee Supply Chain
3) Discussion – (relating to each of the 3 frameworks)
4) Conclusion
