In 2-3 pp., identify a major point the author wants to make and whether or not you find their position persuasive. Be sure to take into consideration who you think the author was (if not identified, think about how would you locate them socially)and the audience for whom they wrote. Indicate the immediate issues to which the author was responding and the context from which they arose. Be sure to quote from and cite the text of the primary source and, if necessary, the Foner textbook to support your positions.
Your essay should have an introduction with an identifiable thesis statement, paragraphs with strong topic sentences that develop your thesis, and a conclusion.
