Requirements:
This assessment provides students with an opportunity to identify and solve organisational behaviour problems. Students will analyse a case study and submit a case study report not exceeding 1500 words of main text (excludes references). Utilising theories from the course, this assessment requires students to identify and describe the case problem, analyse and evaluate the situation, and then propose a suitable solution(s) that could be implemented. It is expected that students will use a minimum of fifteen (15) academic journal references. Academic references are those which have been peer-reviewed and published in reputable scholarly journals.
Use the following three section headings to structure your report. A report introduction and conclusion also needs to be included within the word limit.
a. Case study outline.
Describe the case study. Explain the facts of the problem and organisational context, including:
What is the core issue?
Who is involved?
When did the issue arise?
Where is the impact (e.g., which individual, team and organisational outcomes are impacted)?
b. Case Study Analysis
Draw on theory to identify potential reasons why the problem occurred. Explore potential reasons at the individual, team and/or organisational levels.
c. Case study solution.
Identify a solution to the problem, using theory to justify your decision. In your rationale explain:
· Why is this solution the most appropriate?
· How will this solution be implemented?
· What method will be used to evaluate the solution? And when will this evaluation be implemented?
The case study report must conform to normal academic standards of referencing. For further details, please refer to: http://sydney.edu.au/business/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/91681/140407_Business_School_Referencing_Guide.pdf
