Imagine your Learning Team is a team of sociologists and anthropologists who write for a prominent geographic magazine and have access to a time machine that will allow you to travel back in time to do your research as needed.

Your team plans to travel to Latin America to study the culture and society of the region and has agreed to publish excerpts from your journals. Your journals catalog insights and conversations with community members and government officials.

·      Select a specific time period to create a journal about: colonial Latin America, 19th-century postcolonial Latin America, or 20th-century Latin America. Consider specific events of the selected time period with respect to the following:

o  Gender and ethnicity

o  Access to power

o  Economic stratification

o  The ability of groups to be a part of the social structure and effect change
