Paper instructions:
3.1 and 3.2 are lecture, you do not need to read it in detail but need to get the general idea. There are four readings, you do not need to read all of them but to answer the following questions you need to cite from at least two. You do not need to write a reference list. write it in a whole paper, not just only answer the questions.

Attach the ad image in the word.

First, select an ad (image) such as those found in the 3.1 and 3.2. It should be gendered in some way. Then consider the following questions about it. Include specific, direct and cited, references from course readings for the week as part of your discussion.

What is the general feel of the ad/product?
What is the “thing” being sold?
What does the ad copy or text on the product imply?
How is the product (whether physical or in the ad) intended to be used being used?
What is the implied relationship between the product and the characters in the ad or the implied relationship between you, the holder of the product, and the product itself?
Who are the intended consumers? Secondary consumer audiences?
Does this ad/product reinforce or challenge a binary system of gender? Explain your answer.

Now, using scissors, glue and other physical supplies or through an image manipulation computer program, reconstruct the advertisement.(You do not really need to do this and no image needed)

Then, answer the following, again including specific reference citations from course readings for the week:

How does my reconstruction of the ad/product relate to the readings and ideas we’ve discussed thus far?
How did I represent the body? relationships? purpose between audience and product?
Does my reconstruction reinforce or challenge the binary system of gender? systems of class and race?
