How important do you feel a support system is in completing the activities that you noted above?

How important do you feel a support system is in completing the activities that you noted above? And what are the key members of your support system? For example you noted your counselor or advisor these are great individuals to speak with as their job is to help you to identify courses of interest, courses that will meet your degree requirements, and courses that will provide you with the specific skills that you will need. Can anyone think of another support system member that may be a good asset to speak with?
