To write program for the inter-process communication technique between the parent and child processes using pipe.

REQUIREMENT / ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
For this assignment, you will have to apply and demonstrate the inter-process communication between parent and child processes by using a pipe. There are two different sets of task needed by parent and child processes. The tasks for each parent process and child process are given below.

 

Parent Process
1. Read a string from user.
2. Pass the string to child process through pipe.
3. Close pipe.
4. Wait for child process to complete.

 
Child Process
1. Read message from pipe.
2. Append the message to file record.dat. [Note: record.dat should be created by your program if it does not exist.]
3. Close pipe.
