Identity in Communities and Networks
Communities and Online Games

The paper will need to be between 2000 and 2500 words. You can write on any subject of your choice, although it should fit within the broad parameters of one of the four conference streams. You should try to present a strong argument. In some academic writing exercise you strive for a balanced approach in this case we want you to make an argument for a particular proposition, backed up with appropriate references.

You might argue for example ‘Facebook has radically changed the way people relate to their online identity’. While counter arguments can obviously be made, we want you to state your case strongly making a consistent argument, and then be both prepared to defend it during the conference and to use the position as a way of engaging with other people’s papers.

You will need to state why what you saying is the case, or why it should be the case. You should also comment on how your paper fits within your chosen stream. You will need to support your argument with appropriate references (using APA referencing style throughout).
