Order Description

A practical report – This will be a 2,000 word individual report of an empirical study that I have conduct (Attitude, motivation and practicing Yoga for stress reduction with 41 participants). The word limit excludes the title, abstract, reference section and appendices.
In attach there is the data collected in an excel document that needs to be worked in SPSS by you and the questionnaire used – When you have added up the attitude scores, you should enter them into SPSS, you should have one column for the total attitude score, one column for the total behaviour score and one column for the total score of your third variable. Once you have completed the data collection you will analyse the data (after consulting the choosing statistical analysis flow chart).

It should be 2,000 words long (+ or – 10%). The word count does not include the title, the abstract, the reference section or the appendices. It does include in-text citations. I will stop marking at 2,200 words and will give no marks for anything you say beyond this point.
Your report must include the following:
An informative title which mentions each of the predictors and outcomes. This may be different from the title on your ethics form.
An Abstract. This should clearly and succinctly summarise the report. The word limit is 150 words. After 150 words, I will stop marking and will give you no credit for anything you say beyond this point. Aim to include a sentence or two on each section of the report so that it gives an overview of what you did, how you did it, what you found and what you conclude.
An Introduction. In this you should introduce the topic & provide an overview of the theory which underpins your research. You should also outline previous research & explain the methods used by previous researchers. This section should enable you to justify your IVs.
• What’s it all about? Briefly introduce the topic. Why is it studied? Why is it interesting? Give theoretical You should provide a brief overview of the theoretical issues. What overview factors influence behaviour? How do your variables influence behaviour?
• Discuss previous research: You should provide some background information on previous research. It should indicate what methods researchers used and what they found. This should include examples of previous studies.
• Justify your IVs: You should provide an argument in support of the predictors chosen for your design
Method. This should be sub-divided into:
• Design. Outline your design; explain what each of your variables were and how they were manipulated. What type of design was employed: What predictor variables were manipulated? What dependent variable(s) were measured?
Participants. How many did you have & what were their specific attributes? What were the relevant attributes of this sample?
Materials. Examples of materials need to be provided. In order to remain within the word limit, you may choose to give a synopsis here and direct readers to full examples in your appendices. Do this clearly and explicitly i.e (See Appendix 2) You should provide detailed information about the materials that were used, including examples. Materials can be in appendices provided reader is directed there.
Procedure. Explain how the research was conducted. You should provide a summary of how the study was conducted. This enables other researchers to replicate the study, so only include relevant details. Is it replicable from information given? Could a naïve researcher replicate exactly what you did – based upon your method section?
• Novel design: Have you attempted to combine a novel set of predictors/measures?
Result. Summarise your results in an appropriate form. Ensure that you have mentioned key information (such as measures of variance). Graphs and tables may prove useful. They are included within the word count. Ensure that they are correctly labelled. Report your analysis and explain what conclusions you have drawn.
Discussion.
Briefly summarise what you did and what you found. Do not include numerical values in this section.
Explain what the results mean and how they tie in with or contradict previous research. What are the theoretical implications of your findings?
Critique your study. Discuss any weaknesses, errors or recommendations for future research.
Conclusion. Sum up the implications of your work.
At this level I expect to see:
Evidence of reading round the topic – 10 references would be the absolute minimum; good reports will have considerably more. Ensure that the bulk of your references are relatively recent. However, most people will also find a need to reference some classic studies. The vast majority of your references should be drawn from papers and journals. Aim to use secondary sources only for classic studies.
Work should be correctly referenced in APA format.
The written style should be clear, concise, formal and academic in tone.
