Investigative reporters are bolder today than they were 30 or 40 years ago. How do you think the impact of Watergate has contributed to this boldness? Do you think investigative reporters are justified in being bold to get information for the public, or do you think they are too aggressive?

Today, when we hear about a politician being accused of wrong doing, it is easy to assume the worst he is guilty. Do you think that previous generations (pre Watergate) came to conclusions like that so easily? Why/why not?
When Mr. Ford pardoned Mr. Nixon, he said he did it so that the country could heal. Do you think this was the case, or was it really a deal made that prevented more scandalous issues from being revealed?
Do you think that the Watergate investigation, which was widely televised, contributed to the public s right to know or did it just add to the confusion and mistrust that was building throughout the country?
