Irish issues

Read the assigned works and watch the films in the list below. All those works deal with the troubled years in Northern Ireland between the time of the Civil Rights Movement and the Peace Process (from 1968 onwards). Examine and analyze them carefully and critically and explain how the Troubles and the Peace Process are depicted in those works. Pay attention to each artist’s perspectives in history. * Discuss the situation of the Republic of Ireland that went through the rise and fall of the Celtic Tiger and how it is shown in the films, such as “In Bruges”(2004) and “Adam & Paul” (2004) and Martin McDonagh play, ” The Beauty Queen of Leenane” (1996).
