You will write a ONE paragraph paper focusing on the element of irony in JUST ONE short story: “A Pair of Tickets.” Here are the instructions:

Write a single, effectively developed paragraph of 6-8 sentences discussing irony in Amy Tan’s story “A Pair of Tickets.” Effectively incorporate the definition(s)/description(s) of irony from our textbook reading this week (160, 288, and Glossary A6) and use specific examples from the story itself. Make it clear how the examples fit the meaning of irony. When you quote (sparingly), be sure to use quotation marks and in-text citations. See the sample paper in our textbook (1897-1905) for the MLA (Modern Language Association) style.

You should be able to write a longer paragraph, but part of the requirement is for you to effectively write just what needs to be written within the specified guidelines.
