How do we know what the images in ancient caves or the Petroglyphs on rocks really mean if there was no writing and no one left on earth to tell the story? Were there mind altering substances involved? Did the images drawn in caves depict animals that really existed in the area where the artists lived or were they imagined?

How do we know what the images in ancient caves or the Petroglyphs on rocks really mean if there was no writing and no one left on earth to tell the story? What do you think the images were used for? Do you find it amazing that many cave drawings look similar in style in France and Spain and they are so far away from each other? Is there anything in our culture that serves to explain your ideas? These are just a few points of discussion. Need to be in two paragraph style My answer, will take off grammar. We really don’t know if the petroglyphs where true if they didn’t leave any signs of meaning .The Egyptian artist from a grid system to go by what they thought there after life would be. How they painted picture of there after was amazing. Many other different culture took on this same style . For example France is known for it building structures. May people tour France for that reason. The United State has symbol for us for example the flag when you see that you know we are America.
