Latin America Studies Film Review
Order Description
Your written film review should be 1-2 pages typewritten (word-processed), stapled, double spaced, and should use 12 point type, plain white paper and dark black ink. Electronic submission is not permitted (though you should be sure to keep an electronic copy).
Please make sure to include the following in your film review:
First, state the title of the film (in multiple languages if appropriate), the year released, the country of origin, the name of the director, the format in which you watched it, and the source of your copy (i.e. Feinberg, Netflix, Waterfront Video, or a public screening.)
Give a brief summary of the film, do not retell the entire movie point by point. Where and when was the film made? What was the film about? What was the setting? When did the film take place? Who were the important people in the film? Why? Make sure to include any details that stuck with you.
Give your opinion– What were your reactions to the film? Did it surprise you? Was it an interesting subject? Did it open your eyes to something? Did it make you feel anything –upset , confusion, anger, sadness, happiness, curiosity– how, why? Don’t just say that you loved or hated the film, give a basis for your opinion.
Lastly, did you learn anything from the film? What?
