Legal Systems

What is the point of law and punishment in different civilizations from history? We have covered many different legal systems in this module. Select three examples and compare their motivations in using specific methods of punishment in that society.

Course Themes

This week we read an overview of the historical developments throughout the world as they interacted. What do you think are the most important subjects to remember from this course? What is the underlying theme of World History to 1700? Finally, what has been most interesting to you throughout this class?
