make sure there are two separate charts/tables …one for gestational diabetes and one for tuberculosis
do NOT include a cover page in the ten pages I can write a cover page for myself
ensure to include an introduction to these both at risk population
ensure that recommendations to preventing these clients from getting gestational diabetes and tuberculosis is included in write up
ensure there is a conclusion
ensure that books and websites that can be assessed by the teacher freely online are used in the reference in case the teacher wishes to double check the referencing
ensure that the spacing is correct please
the information below can be used also…this is what I started…
Introduction
In Trinidad and Tobago the population is at risk for various diseases. These high risk populations include Gestational diabetes and Tuberculosis, of which clients are screened for. Within this activity several individuals were screened for either one of these at two different clinics. The first screening test took place when I joined the registered nurses at the Adult chest clinic at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC), while for the second set of screening test I joined the other nurses/ midwives at the Mount Hope Women’s’ Hospital (MHWH) Antenatal Clinic.
According to Jovanovic (2015) Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a condition that develops during pregnancy when the body is not able to make enough insulin. It is important to treat or manager GDM immediately as to prevent any complications from occurring with the mother or the unborn child (Jovanovic, 2015). The author further states that Gestational diabetes affects between 2 and 10 percent of women during pregnancy.
Screening for gestational diabetes is usually done between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. However, if the expecting mother has risk factors for gestational diabetes, such as: a history of gestational diabetes in a previous pregnancy; obesity; glucose (sugar) in your urine and a strong family history of diabetes screening may be done earlier. Questions were asked to the client to find out if they were at risk for GDM.

To screen for gestational diabetes, you will take a test called the oral glucose tolerance test. This test involves quickly drinking a sweetened liquid, which contains 50g of glucose. The body absorbs this glucose rapidly, causing blood sugar levels to rise within 30-60 minutes. A blood sample will be taken from a vein in your arm about 30 minutes after drinking the solution. The blood test measures how the glucose solution was metabolized (processed by the body).
If your test results are not normal, you will have a similar type of diabetes test that requires you to fast (not eat anything) before the test. If this second test yields abnormal results, you have gestational diabetes.

The next high risk population fell under contracting Tuberculosis. This is commonly known as TB, it is a bacterial infection that can spread through the lymph nodes and bloodstream to any organ in your body. It is most often found in the lungs.
