Dr. Amy Moll, dean of the College of Engineering, assisted as a technical advisor on the Nova series, “Making Stuff”. Whether you are a MSE major or not, you will find this series interesting. Afterall, as Dean Moll says, everyone needs to care about materials because “everything is made of something.”

Guidelines

Watch up to 2 episodes and answer the following reflection questions to receive up to 10 points of extra credit for each summary.  
Which episode did you watch?

Select one of the materials discussed in the program and answer the following questions:

1.Identify the material you have selected.
2.What scientific concepts or principles were discussed related to this material?
3.How is this material relevant, i.e. what problems are they trying to solve?
4.What challenges must be overcome to make this a mainstream solution?
Papers should be written such that someone unfamiliar with the topic, or that did not watch the show, can understand your description. They should be submitted via the course Blackboard site via Safe Assign (found in the assignment folder).

Final date for submission is Friday, Nov 22, end of day (11:59 pm).
