Film Case Study

Choose one of the three films for your Written Assignment  Film Case Study.

1.    Watch the film Invictus (Netflix, 2009). Using textbook readings and online assignments, apply examples from the film Invictus to answer 2 of the 3 questions presented below:
a.    Examine Nelson Mandela’s leadership in relation to the leadership material discussed in the textbook, class lectures and online assignments
b.    Compare Nelson Mandela’s approach to change management with one of the change theories discussed in class, the textbook or online assignments
c.    Based on chapter 15 of the textbook and class lectures, examine how Nelson Mandela achieved results through communicating and motivating others

2.    Watch the film The Social Network (Netflix, 2010). Using textbook readings and online assignments apply examples from the film The Social Network to answer 2 of the 3 questions presented below:
a.    Examine Mark Zuckerberg’s leadership in relation to the leadership materials discussed in the textbook, class lectures and online assignments
b.    Discuss the evolution of Facebook’s culture through materials discussed in class, the textbook and/or online assignments. Identify the events that took place in the start up phase of Facebook that make it the organization it is today
c.    Compare Facebook’s start up to the process of entrepreneurship discussed in chapter 18 of the textbook

3.    Watch the film Apollo 13 (Netflix, 1995). Using textbook readings and online assignments apply examples from the film Apollo 13 to answer 2 of the 3 questions presented below:
a.    Examine the leadership in Apollo 13 in relation to the leadership materials discussed in the textbook, class lectures and online assignments
b.    Discuss decision making in the film to illustrate decision making methodologies in the textbook, class lectures and online assignments
c.    Discuss the role of teamwork in the Apollo 13 crisis using the teamwork materials presented in the textbook, class lectures and online assignments

Your paper should be a maximum of three (3) pages, double-spaced in a Microsoft Word document. The page count suggested is the maximum but answers can be shorter if they are well written, concise and include a depth of content.

This assignment will be graded 70% on your ability to correctly apply the material you learned in the readings, lectures and in class discussions and 30% on grammar, spelling and syntax. It is important you edit your answers before turning them in.
