Final Project

Due December 11^th, 11:55 PM, late submission accepted till December 12^th for reduced credit (-20%)

Task 1 (50%):

Create an Excel spreadsheet for a small business or organization. In the spreadsheet, demonstrate the various functions and techniques covered in the 3 ICAs. For example, the spreadsheet should include, but not limited to, the followings:

• Use of absolute references and partial absolute references
• Use of IF statements
• Use of conditional formatting
• Use of Tables
• Use of data validation, such as LIST
• Use of dynamic list (list content depends on the value in another cell)
• Use of lookup, match, and index functions
• Use of contingency table to help make simple decisions
• Other functions and techniques covered in the ICAs

Rules:

• Work independently. Do not cooperate or compare with anyone’s spreadsheet or show anyone your work before or after submission. Every person’s submission should be unique.
• Do NOT copy the examples in the ICAs. Create your own applications. No credits will be given, if you copy from the ICAs.
• Label each function/technique used clearly. Highlight the label in yellow. See the picture below for an example.

Task 2 (50%)

Use the database file provided:

• Add data (add at least 3 new records to each table),
• Create various queries, forms, and reports to demonstrate what you learned from the database ICAs.

Rules:

• Work independently. Do not cooperate with anyone or show anyone your work before or after submission. Every person’s file should be unique. No two submissions should look identical or similar.
• Clearly label each query and form to show the functions/techniques included.

• Completeness (demonstrate what you learned)
• Clarity and organization
• Correctness
• Creativity
• Difficulty and complexity
