Part A-
Medical terms can be found in magazines, newspapers, and common websites.
Choose a magazine, newspaper, or reputable website (webmd, medline plus, etc.) and read an article or entry about a health-related article. Write a summary of the

article, breaking down the medical terms (prefix, suffix, and root word), and then translating these medical terms to regular language. List the authors, the title,

the name of the magazine, newspaper, or website and share the link.

Part B-
This is your opportunity to review consumer literature. Medical terminology is used everywhere, more frequently in teaching booklets/brochures that we see in

public areas. These health teaching tools are there for the public to learn about different health concerns and problems. Part B of this assignment will focus on

medical terms used in teaching the public.

Find a brochure and review it, summarizing what you have read.

Then answer the following questions about it:

Were there many medical terms used? Post those terms and share with your classmates whether you think that the consumer would know what they mean.
Do you think that this information could be misunderstood and why?
What would you suggest for resources?
Where or who can the consumer turn to? Talk with your classmates about where the consumer can find out more information.
Who are the reliable and reputable resources?
What would you say if a relative or friend had showed you a brochure that they could not understand?
