Metadata, Master Data, and Web 2.0 Content

For this assessment, you will write a 4–6-page report for the CIO of your selected company in which you examine the integration, use, and management of metadata and master data within the company’s enterprise information architecture and recommend how the company might store, retrieve, and farm social media content.
Note: You will need to Review Assessments 1–4 (upload) before beginning this assessment. You will use the company you selected in Assessment 1 to complete all the assessments in this course.

Use the company you selected in Assessment 1 to complete the following:
• Write a report for the company’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) pertaining to the integration, use, and management of metadata and master data. Include the following information in your report:
o Describe metadata and master data.
o Identify 3–5 examples of metadata you might integrate in each data domain.
o Evaluate security issues related to metadata.
o Identify 3–5 types of master data your company might integrate, and describe a possible integration strategy.
o Explain how the master data types you have identified can be integrated into the enterprise information architecture.
• Provide recommendations in your report for how your company should address user-generated social media content. Evaluate issues associated with data discovery, security, and farming (for data the company did not create but that exists on the Web) for each of the following types of social media:
o Blogs.
o Wikis.
o Tweets.
o Facebook or Google+.
•Communicate effectively in a manner that is professional and consistent with the expectations of IT professionals and corporate leaders. Keep the purpose of your communication in mind, and tailor your message to the intended audience.
Additional Requirements
•Written communication: Your report should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
•APA formatting: Source citations and references should be formatted according to APA sixth edition style and formatting guidelines.
•Font and font size: Arial, 11 point.
•Length of paper: Your paper should not exceed 4–6 pages in length.
•Resources: An appropriate number of recent, peer-reviewed, and scholarly resources should be used to support the demands of the paper.
