Moghaddam says that one’s judgments of how similar someone else is to oneself is influenced by culture. What are two or three variables you would want to assess in another person when deciding if they were or were not like you? Do you think most people in Toronto would choose these same variables? How about people in other cities of the world – Mumbai, Beijing, Djakarta, Rome, Indianapolis, …? How do you think one’s culture influences one’s judgments about similarity?
