Many of you will one day become CFOs in publicly traded companies. In this project, you will learn to get familiar with one of your future jobs: preparing the

Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) section of the annual reports. The following is the instructions for the project.

1.Go to Edgar: www.sec.gov and locate the most recent 10-Ks for your two assigned companies.

2.Read the MD&A sections of your two companies. Write a report that includes the following:

A comparison of the two MD&As, e.g., is there any information that one company discloses but the other does not and vice versa? (10%)
Your conjecture on why those two companies choose to report different information (the tone, the amount, the level of detail, or the type) in their MD&As. (45%)
Your assessment of which information is redundant and which information is valuable from an investors point of view. (45%)

3.The main text of the report should be 3-5 pages. The required font is Times New Roman, the required size is 12, and the report should be single-spaced. You could

supplement graphs or figures to make the report more readable but they are not required.
