Neuro Exam

Give questions and you ask patients regarding following subjective data and give small background comments about them.
a.Headach
b. Head injury
c. dizziness/vertigo
d. Seizures
e. Tremors
f. weakness
g. Incoordination
h. numbness or tingling
i. difficulty swallowing
j. difficulty speaking.
k. significant past history
l. Environmental/ occupational hazards.

II  Physical  ( Give a brief description of how to perform this components of assessment, give the expected normal findings)
1.    Mental status
2.    Cranial nerves II through XII
3.    Motor system:
a.    Muscle size, strength, tone
b.    Gait and balance
c.    Rapid alternating movements.
4    Sensory function
a.    Superficial pain and light touch
b.    Vibration
c.    Position sense
d.    Streognosis, graphesthesia, two point discrimination
5     Reflexes
a.    DTR’s : biceps, triceps, brachioradialis, patellar, Achilles
b.    Superficial: abdominal, plantar.
