A. Rapid population growth that outstripped available resources
B. Deforestation and erosion which, accompanied by prolonged droughts that decreased crop yields and pushed the increasingly fragile Mayan economy closer to economic collapse
C. Ever growing economic demands of the elites and diminishing ability of the commoners to meet these demands
D. Social and political disunity and increase in warfare as competition for increasingly scarce land for cultivation became sharper
E. All of the above conditions contributed to the collapse of Maya civilization
