Group Project- Holt Vs Hobbs:

The second part will be a page and a half each on our individual decisions. Since we are 6 people we have to do a 4 to 2 decision. 4 of us chose against the beard, and we will each do a different reason why we believe so. Two of us were for the beard and i suggest we do one security reason and one religious reason as two why we believe he can keep the beard.

Our four reasons would be:

1) The one inch beard is a security threat 2) An inch beard doesn’t satisfy the religious requirement 3) If we (the court) give an inch; who is to determine what length is given (Rational Basis) 4) This will open up a can of worms for many religious cases

My reason is reason number 3 (Rational Basis)
