PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT:
You will be asked to complete a final project that cuts across core competency areas and pushes you to
construct and implement management development plans. The format for this project is as follows:
Select FIVE topics covered in the text and discussed in class – they must be from five different chapters
and span all three levels of analyses – and for each area: (a) briefly describe the conceptual issue
involved, (b) discuss how it applies to an experience you have had on the job, (c) evaluate its effect upon
Performance, Satisfaction, Absenteeism, and/or Turnover, (d) propose a plan for improving on this
competency using guidelines from the relevant theoretical models, and (e) report on the results of the plan
and appropriate adjustments going forward.
Your final project must be no longer than ten double-spaced, typewritten page and submitted via
Blackboard using the following naming criteria: “LASTNAME-322Project- Fall 2014WE”. They will be
evaluated on the following criteria:
Format: Does the report adhere to the specified guidelines?
Accuracy: Are the concepts described and applied appropriately?
Relevance: Are the examples illustrative of the concepts?
Consistency: Are the PSAT implications appropriately analyzed and well thought out
Development: Do the competency development plans follow from the previous sections?
Assessment: Is the analysis of results and L-T adjustment of plans appropriate?
Presentation: Is the paper/presentation clear and professional (e.g., errors in spelling or grammar)
