To date, there are no studies that firmly link the use of marijuana to criminal behavior. Marijuana use is actually linked to a decrease in physical activity.

Describe which category or categories of drugs have been linked to an increase in criminal behavior and violence?

Research has been conducted to identify the relationship between alcohol and violence. Studies have revealed that up to 86 percent of homicide offenders had been drinking or under the influence of alcohol at the time of the offense.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism has also found that alcohol, more than any other drug, has been linked to violent aggression.
