Revision Guide (to be filled out completely and included with your final submission):

Revision Guide

1.     Read through the entire essay and list both the strengths and weaknesses of the essay below in at least two to three whole sentences.

2.     Outline the thesis and the supporting reasons on the back of this revision guide.  Does the argument follow reasonably?  Suggest changes.  How well is the

family photograph described and then defined within the context of this description?

3.     Look closely at the evidence provided in the body of the essay.   Put stars by the use of evidence in the essay.  Is it specific and effectively used?  Could

other evidence be used?  Suggest changes.

4.     Look closely at the introduction.  Does it adequately provide context, description and background for the thesis?  Suggest changes.

5.    Read the sentences out loud.  Look for problems of grammar and poor word choice.  Suggest changes and correct problems.

6.    How well are terms defined and then compared to other terms?  Are topic sentences utilized?  Suggest changes.
