PHP social networking site

You are required to build a MySQL database driven XHTML and PHP social networking site intended for a single group of friends to use – hence there is no need for a “friend list”. The site will have the ability to register an account and log in, and then post, view, comment on and search for status updates. This assignment forms the basis for assignment two, in which you will add new features to the site and apply more in-depth functionality.
You may design and lay out the site however you like, as long as the functionality is implemented. You are not required to create a website that looks pretty or resembles any examples provided
