The project is a 1500 word project submitted in the form of a referenced academic essay. The purpose is to show the relevance of the thinker, the event or the

institution to today’s political economy. Please choose one from the following : The International Monetary Fund,
the World Bank / International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, The World Trade Organisation (WTO)
International Aid Agencies: Oxfam, Red Cross, War on Want, Save the Children and so on

In the project, students will choose an economic event, institution or thinker. They will present the key information about their chosen subject and demonstrate its

relevance to contemporary politics.
Many of the marks are also focused on your academic writing skills. So choosing a relevant focus for your project, writing a coherent report which is structured,

relevant and accurate whilst conforming to all of the new rules you will learn (how to APA reference in text and cite, how to assemble a bibliography and how to write

formally and precisely) are the key areas to ensure you work on.

(1) Make sure that a minimum of 12 sources are used and read

(2) Make sure they are academic sources. To be clear what this means. Use the audios anyway in fact – they are definitely accurate and the marker
will assume every point made in them has been understood and used.

(3) Make sure the 12 sources are listed in a bibliography at the end of an essay
and that this bibliography meets the EXACT requirements of the APA system for each
source

(4) Make sure you are not below the word count 1500 words (it is a minimum)

(5) Make sure your work is extremely well referenced

(6) make sure the text is relevant, coherent, comprehensible and avoids waffle.

(7) Make sure the essay says something, and does so accurately!

(8) Make sure the essay is on a relevant topic!
