Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements
write an over Overview of project 150-200 words(will attache background of project in word doc): The objective of this section is to provide an overview of the scope and nature of the project to help enable the team to select one project to work on for the rest of the course.
(In excel please!)Preliminary budgetary plan: The objective of the budget section is to capture cost estimates, which include resources, capital expenses, materials, and miscellaneous. The cost analysis must consider the following elements (at a minimum): labor, subcontractors, rental or purchase of equipment or facilities, travel, telecommunications, supplies and materials, and documentation. The output for this step is called project funding requirements, which is described in section 7.2.3 of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. ( see below)
7.2.3.1 Activity Cost Estimates
Add a note hereActivity cost estimates are quantitative assessments of the probable costs required to complete project work. Cost estimates can be presented in summary form or in detail. Costs are estimated for all resources that are applied to the activity cost estimate. This includes, but is not limited to, direct labor, materials, equipment, services, facilities, information technology, and special categories such as cost of financing (including interest charges), an inflation allowance, exchange rates, or a cost contingency reserve. Indirect costs, if they are included in the project estimate, can be included at the activity level or at higher levels.
7.2.3.2 Basis of Estimates
Add a note hereThe amount and type of additional details supporting the cost estimate vary by application area. Regardless of the level of detail, the supporting documentation should provide a clear and complete understanding of how the cost estimate was derived.
Add a note hereSupporting detail for activity cost estimates may include:
Add a note hereDocumentation of the basis of the estimate (i.e., how it was developed),
Add a note hereDocumentation of all assumptions made,
Add a note hereDocumentation of any known constraints,
Add a note hereIndication of the range of possible estimates (e.g., €10,000 (±10%) to indicate that the item is expected to cost between a range of values), and
Add a note hereIndication of the confidence level of the final estimate.
Preliminary Project Charter Worksheet
Instructions: Complete this project charter worksheet according to the instructions in section 4.1 of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
Completed by: Date:
The project entails the addition of about 21000 seats to the target college stadium including several luxury skyboxes all completed within 270 days beginning the off-peak season in 2014 and be ready by the start of the 2015 season. Any project delays would cost the constructor US$10,000 per day.
The renovations allow the college gain additional seats for her fans including luxury lounges that would allow her to invite dignitaries to important matches.
The current football stadium for ABC college is obsolete with regards to the modern day requirements. Moreover, the seating capacity fails to be inclusive of the demands of the fans who wish to see their teams in action. In addition to that, absence of luxury lounges denies the college key revenue.
Due to the financial constraints of the college, the college is unable to relocate to a new stadium and thus is compelled to renovate their current stadium in such a manner that befits a modern day football stadium. The project demands that 21,000 seats are added, several luxury boxes installed, upgrade of the playing pitch and upgrades of walkways, stairwells, and elevators. In addition, all relevant regulations on OSHA and taxes are met before, during and after the completion of the project. The construction company needs to deliver within 270 days lest they pay a fine of US$10,000 per day.
The main project risk would be in failing to meet the deadline as this would lead to not only a hefty fine on the part of the constructor but also a delay in the launch of the football season for the college. Moreover, the project data may be corrupted or distorted in the course of the entire program. Lastly, due to the high interest and stakes in the renovation, communication becomes an added risk to the project in that, the key stakeholders need to ensure that they communicate the progress of the renovation to the public.
Based on the current industry data, the entire renovation are likely to cost around US$73million in total. Any additional features to the project might see the budget rise.
