The Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme (AGQTP) provides funding to strengthen the skills and understanding of the teaching profession. This initiative is

aimed at improving teacher quality and increasing the number of highly effective Australian schools to maximise student learning outcomes. The projects are funded by

the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations as a quality teacher initiative.

Sources for funding (research tenders)
There are a range of funding avenues for educators. Typically these require the submission of a tender which outlines the focus and research plan for the proposed

research. Below are examples of four funding sources available for educators this list is not exhaustive, but provides some indication of where money can be obtained

from to support the important work of educational researchers.
Commonwealth Bank e-Learning Grants

Each year the Commonwealth Bank Foundation invite primary schools to apply for e-Learning Grants. The e-Learning Grants are available to support the development of

literacy and numeracy skills of students through the implementation of creative programs using technology. Successful applications are offered $5000 to support their

project.
EnviroFund Grants

Amounts: Up to $50,000
The purpose of these grants is to help communities undertake local projects aimed at conserving biodiversity and sustainable resource use.  They are funded by the

Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA) and are a national award.
The Envirofund has two main objectives:
1.    to provide the opportunity and means for community groups to undertake small on-ground projects tackling important local problems; &
2.    to provide a mechanism through which community groups (in particular those that have had little or no previous engagement with the Natural Heritage Trust) can

move towards effective engagement in broader regional approaches to natural resource management.
IMB Community Foundation Grants

The purpose of these grants is to enhance the economic self-sufficiency of communities, as well as generate economic, social, cultural, environmental, tourism and

educational benefits for those communities in the Illawarra. It is funded by the IMB banking and financial services. The IMB Community Foundation is particularly keen

to promote partnerships and collaborative efforts in the community.
Telstra Foundation

The Telstra Foundation is interested in supporting the development of innovative solutions and new approaches to issues affecting children and young people aged 18

years and under. The Foundation identifies that an early intervention approach can tackle a range of interrelated problems such as child abuse and neglect, learning

and development difficulties, substance misuse and juvenile crime.
