Loughry Larder employs 4 production workers, Bob John Sam and Liz. The company sometimes runs a Saturday morning shift to ensure adequate stock of produce. Records show that the probability of the staff agreeing to work Saturday overtime when asked are Bob 0.75, John 0.20, Sam 0.45 and Liz 0.4.
Two staff are required to run a line. If 3 staff are available 2 are selected by random selection to work. If all four staff are available then two lines are operated.
a) What is the probability of having sufficient staff to run Saturday overtime?
