Proposal – Convention Travel ( the Convention I chose is NBAA2014 – Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition )

Rationale
Nearly all business writing is persuasive and makes a proposal of some kind. However, a formal proposal has a specific purpose and requests funding, time, and action.
Scenario
Employees should be familiar with industry innovations and best practices. One method of staying current is to attend conventions. Therefore, you decide that you would like to attend a convention and determine to ask your employer to provide funding.
Instructions
Research a conference in your field that will be held in the Fall of 2014. This must be a real conference.
The proposal should include:
•Information about the organization sponsoring the conference•Information about the conference•Why you should attend•What you expect to learn•How long you will be gone•What are the funds requiredFunding information should include
•Conference fees•Hotel (name, room type, and rate)•Per diem for food (use the GSA Per Diem Rate Tables)•Air Transportation (airline, cost, schedule)•Ground TransportationFormatting
Determine what company you are working for and design a company letterhead. This part of the assignment may be fictitious, but it will determine where you will be flying from. Use tables, bullet points, and graphics where and when appropriate.
Mechanics
Always read your work through looking solely for mechanical errors. Read the work aloud. Run a spell check and a grammar check, but keep in mind that writing is a complex skill, and the computer will not catch everything that is wrong.

2) Business Report ( 6 pages without the cover page and the works cited. I have uploaded my outline of the this paper which is about Emirates airlines )

Purpose
This assignment is practice in researching a company and writing an extended business report. Company reports are used for presentation and research, such as annual reports, press filings, investments planning, and for interview research.
Content
Select a publically traded company that you are interested in learning more about. A private company may be used; however, the research will be more difficult. What do you want to know? Consider what kind of information would be useful for different purposes. For example are you researching the company as a possible employer? Are you researching the company as a possible investment? Are you researching the company as a marketing competitor? Are you reaching the company for potential litigation? You may want to research any or all of the following topics:
•Company History•Product Lines•Leadership•Financial Standing•Advertising Campaigns•Current or Past Litigation•Company Press Releases•Outside Press•Community/Charitable Involvement•Hiring Practices•Company Culture•Environmental Effect•Forecast for Future DevelopmentsResearch Requirements
When researching a company, you should look at more than one source. It is important to read outsider’s viewpoints as well as the company website. Reviewing professional journals and newspapers, such as The Wall Street Journal may provide better information than the company itself.
A minimum of 5 credible sources are required.
Credible sources are from vetted websites and respected journals. Wikipedia is not a valid source for a college essay; however, it may be a good place to start. Scroll to the bottom and look at the sources. You may want to look at the sources. Encyclopedias and general Google sources are also not allowed.
Timeliness is also important. The world of business changes daily. No source should be older than two years. Keep in mind that for some companies, two years is ancient history. If you are looking at financial statistics, 2013 may not be published yet.
MLA documentation should be used. A Works Cited page and in text citations are required to avoid plagiarism.
Formatting
The format that you use is your decision. There are two excellent examples in the textbook on pages 142-167, and there are two samples posted under Helps Hints. Make the report look good.
Additional Formatting Requirements:
•  Cover Page•  Table of Contents•    Executive Summary•    Body of Work
•    Works CitedRequired Visual Elements: No More Than Three Total
•    1 Graph•    1 Table•    1 Picture or DrawingLength
The body of the report should be 7-10 pages. These are minimum and maximum numbers. Points will be deducted for being below or over the maximum or minimum. The page count does not include the cover page, table of contents, or works cited page; however, it does include the required visual elements.
Outline
A formal outline of the report will be reviewed in class by the instructor. Review Chapter 2: Planning & Outlining Messages.
Rough Draft
A rough draft of the report will be reviewed in class by the instructor. The report should be essentially complete with only final editing remaining.
