The write-up is the final stage of the research process, in which the
researcher pulls together all of the data he or she has collected,
analyzes the results for trends, and presents his or her findings and
conclusions. This week you will conclude the interviewing Mini-Project
that you have been working on since Week 7. For this, Application
activity, you will review your coded data and prepare a write-up of
your results.
To prepare for this Application:
Analyze your interview data. What larger themes do you see emerging
from the data?
Consider how you would present your findings to the reader, and ensure
evidence of quality.

Who do you admire most and can you please explain why you admire the individual giving specific characteristics?
The one that I admire is Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama is intelligent and a change agent. As a change agent, Michelle Obama has encouraged the United States to endorse healthy eating. Also, Michelle actively supports all the members of her family as a wife, mother and daughter. Michelle Obama is my role model.
Out of all the characteristics that you admire about the person, which characteristic do you admire most and why?
The characteristic that I admire the most about Michelle Obama is her business attributes in which case collaborates with being a housewife.
Can you please share a story, an event, or a situation that happened where the admired individual exhibited that particular characteristic towards you?
One day, I decided to google female leaders in a search engine. Michelle Obama was one of the women select. In reading her biography, I was shocked to learn that Michelle has her JD degree, volunteered at the Chicago mayor’s office and met Barrack while working as a volunteer. After that, I admired her efforts.
Do you feel that you embody those same characteristics as the person you admire, if yes, how so, if no, then why not?
Yes I embody same of Michelle’s characteristics. I emulate Michelle’s characteristics because I strive to be like her. I enjoy supporting my family, offering initiatives, spending time with my family, as well as maintain educational agenda’s.
How has the admired individual shaped your career and your success?
Michelle Obama has shaped my career and success in a positive manner. By being able to learn from her experience so that I can be a better mother and girlfriend.
Lastly, if you did not have this person to admire, how do you think your success and career choices would’ve been different?
If I did not have Michelle Obama as a role model than I would not be as successful with supporting my family, boyfriend, education and change agent.
Who do you admire most and can you please explain why you admire the individual giving specific characteristics?
The question is an interesting one since there are so many people that I do admire both living and passed away. However, I think I will have to choose a previous leader, whom we referred to as the Father of my country Independence. He was the first Prime Minister for my country – Barbados, and he stands out as a national hero who worked to improve the lives of the poor and the marginalized.
As a leader of a small country, he was visionary, with strong leadership qualities. His aim was to always do more for the people, at the expense of riches and glory. From all accounts he was well respected at the international level. In terms of characteristics I would say that he was a thinkers and an intellect. He was also a strong leader with the ability to command the respect of others, and I believe that he had a genuine love for his people and to see them prosper and develop socially and economically.
Out of all the characteristics that you admire about the person, which characteristic do you admire most and why?
Out of the many characteristics I think it was his strong leadership qualities that stood out the most. I am always impressed by strong leaders who are able to inspire their people and to bring about social and economic change. This person processed those qualities and had the ability to create hope among those who were seen as marginalized.
Can you please share a story, an event, or a situation that happened where the admired individual exhibited that particular characteristic towards you?
In response to your question, I don’t have any personal experiences with this person, but there are the anecdotal evidence from people and stories that I have read, which convinces me that he was a well-respected leader of the people. It would have been a pleasure to have experience this more personally but unfortunately that was not the case.
Do you feel that you embody those same characteristics as the person you admire, if yes, how so, if no, then why not?
I am not sure I can fill the shoes of this person or claim to process the ideal characteristics, but it would be good to try. However, what I can say is that I always seek to maintain a positive outlook on life and to adopt qualities that can benefit not only myself but others also. In my own professional life, having strong leadership qualities, hard work, dedication, and commitment are all important. These were qualities this person had, and I think that there are important enough for me to also embrace.
How has the admired individual shaped your career and your success?
As mentioned, the person has helped me to be more motivated and to aspire to do the best possible. I have tried to maintain good work ethics and to provide leadership to junior officers. These values have also been applied to my personal life through civic engagements and the act of giving back to the community.
Lastly, if you did not have this person to admire, how do you think your success and career choices would’ve been different?
To be honest, while this person has been an influence, I don’t think that I would have adopted a different path or be less successful in my professional and personal life. As mentioned before, there are a number of persons whom I admire for their contribution to society and the meaningful life they have led. So, I do have other persons of influence and to learn from. Also, I think that we must motivate ourselves and not always wait on other to do it for us.

Who do you admire most and can you please explain why you admire the individual giving specific characteristics?
I most admire my now deceased maternal grandmother (also named Roberta). She was an immigrant from Trinidad and came to the United States in 1923 when she was just 10 years old. Her family came to America with very little and settled in Virginia. She later met and married my grandfather, a Native American. Disappointed with her choices, her family disowned her. Even up until the day she died, they would never utter another word to her. Surviving the great depression, periods of White Supremacy, and the civil rights era, she managed to create a great life for her and my mother an only child.
Out of all the characteristics that you admire about the person, which characteristic do you admire most and why?
The attributes that I admire the most and desire to imitate from my grandmother are her compassion, loyalty, and strength. She was dedicated to holding the family together which she did with great love and compassion. She never failed us and stood strong when she was torn in side.
Can you please share a story, an event, or a situation that happened where the admired individual exhibited that particular characteristic towards you?
My admiration for my grandmother stems from her loving caring ways at the same time she was stern in her discipline with my four brothers and I. Following my father’s sudden death, my mother worked two jobs for as long as I can remember. My brothers and I began spending the weekdays at my grandmother’s so that she could get us ready for school. Those weekends turned into weeks, months, and then years. Eventually my mother stopped coming to get us. My grandmother legally adopted us in order to secure our futures. My mother wasn’t a dead beat in the sense of not providing for us. One of her jobs was a Federal Government job and she sent money often to my grandmother to care for us. She just wasn’t there so my grandmother took over the role. The hurt and pain of abandonment was so unimaginable however, my grandmother reminded us all how special we were and it didn’t matter that our mother never came around, she loved us. She built confidence and courage inside of each of us.
Do you feel that you embody those same characteristics as the person you admire, if yes, how so, if no, then why not?
Currently I don’t possess those specific characteristic that I admire just yet however, I continue to strive to get there. My grandmother had a philosophy in life which was to do good to others even when they haven’t been good to you. This particular attribute is one that is hardest for me and I struggle with it. Hopefully, I’ll get there.
How has the admired individual shaped your career and your success?
My grandmother taught me to never give up and to go for what I want in life. We always talked about the possibilities versus probabilities. Is it possible to become a rocket scientist? Certainly however, is it probable? Not at all. This thought process kept my goals realistic however there was room to dream of the unlimited possibilities available to me.
Lastly, if you did not have this person to admire, how do you think your success and career choices would’ve been different?
If I did not have my grandmother in my life I would have ceased to exist. She created a strong willed, independently minded girl who lived among four brothers. She guided me towards education, work ethics and independence. Because of her influence, I am driven in a mostly male dominated career field. Most of my family pursued the military or civil service jobs as a career path, she however supported me without judgement as I broke the
