Question 1. (3 full pages)

Answer the following question in a well-developed essay (plus an additional Works Cited page) Text: Kirszner, Laurie G., and Stephen R. Mandell. Lit. Boston: Wadsworth/Cengage, 2012
Tip: Your paper should be formatted like the sample student papers in the MLA section of your Brief Wadsworth Handbook (and in the literature book) with the same heading, spacing, etc.
On pages 127-129, the editors of the book (Kirszner and Mandell) define what “character” means to them. In other words, they discuss “good” characterization by a writer.
All the stories you read in module two* have characters (that goes without saying) but here’s what I want to know.
Which writer in this module does the best job of characterizing his or her characters according to the description of character given by Kirszner and Mandell in Chapter 12 of your literature book (pages 127-129)?
On this assignment, you’re required to use quotations from Kirszner and Mandell’s comments on character.
———————————————————–
Follow directions and be sure to go into detail. It is impossible to do well on this paper without specific examples and direct quotations from the stories. Prove you are right.
*Stories required:
• Faulkner “A Rose for Emily”
• O’Connor “A Good Man is Hard to Find”
• Carver “Cathedral”
• Alexie “This is What it Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona”
• Bechdel from Fun Home
• Rios “The Secret Lion”
• Baxter “Gryphon”
Question 2
So far, from the stories in question 1 above. Which should definitely be included the next time I teach this course? (You need to read all stories before answering question!). Your answer needs to offer your choice in the first line and the rest of the post should consist of you explaining with specifics WHY you chose the story you chose! you need to follow these instructions. (8-10 lines).
Question 3
Of all the poems you had to read in this module, which was your favorite and why?
Least favorite and why? Again, make sure you have a statement at the beginning that makes your choices clear! (6-8lines).
Question 4Which of the two plays did you like better and why? 8lines
Question 5
My guess is that there was at least one author we read during this semester that you didn’t enjoy reading. In a short essay, choose one author (from the stories above) that we read this semester and argue that I should remove this author from the coursework the next time I teach this course.
You need to go into detail and prove your answer to me! BE SURE TO EXPLAIN and give REASONS WHY using specific examples from the author you discuss. You do not have to have a Works Cited page for this assignment. ( 2 full pages).
