Systematically analyze key concepts from the readings uploaded.Reaction papers should answer the following questions. • What do/does the author(s) claim to be telling us about the social world? o To whom do/does the author(s) believe his/her claim applies? o What exceptions do/does the author(s) make to his/her claim? • What reasons do/does the author(s) give for advancing this claim? o Are they good/effective reasons? Explain. • What kinds of evidence (data, personal experience, case studies, citations from an expert, etc.) do/does the author(s) offer in support of his/her reasons? Is the evidence convincing and relevant? • Does the author offer and refute alternative explanations? o What possible explanations does the author fail to eliminate? • Summarize your response to the readings by giving an overall evaluation of the argument(s). Reaction essays should be at least 1.5 double-spaced, typed pages each. 12- point Times New Roman font. Include the author and title of the reading(s) in the header for each of the 2 papers.

What was the view of savagery England imported into the American colonies and where was that view developed?
In the early colonies was Native American “savagery” seen as cultural or genetic? What differences were there in Virginia and New England when it comes to this? Use Takaki’s book A Different mirror to answer these questions. Do not use the internet or other online sources
