3) Choose 30 seconds of continuous speech from your recording and make a consistent phonemic transcription of this extract using the set of phonemes below*. (up to 30 marks for this section).

4) Identify two features in your transcription that you think are worth remarking on.
• For example, if English is your second language, you might want to discuss a particular L1 influence.
• Or if British English is your first language, you might want to discuss some feature of your English that differs from (northern or southern) RP.
• If US/Canadian/Australian (etc) English is your first language, you might like to compare your own spoken language to standard pronunciations in those varieties, or to British RP.
• You don’t need to limit yourself to discussing phonemes; you may also discuss word stress, intonation or any other aspect of your spoken repertoire.
