Research and Decision Making for Business

Genral information:

research report that addresses the decision or problem that includes a short critical literature review and

analyses of quantitative data. Data will be provided but the expectation is for students to source data for the

specific purposes of their report. Students will be given a template for the research report and activities in the

textbook provides more information on the preparation and presentation of research reports.

You Must use the Business Research Report Template file to write the report

You must know what type of business leader or bureaucrat (government policy maker, only if you are doing the skills shortage case study) you are and you must be well read in the context you have chosen.

Please note the research report must be about Australia.

Please consider you are the manger of the industry to the department

Please detail what you understand about the subject of your case study

Which industry will you focus on in your research report

Which organization within this industry will you focus on your report

Organization is : government or privet – small or medium or large

Provide the detail about this organization ,what business does it do, how does its profits/what services does it provide, what are the greatest risks to its survival, who are their competitors ,etc:

Which department within this organization do you work for

What is your role in this department

What is the problem that you will investigate( it must have some relation to the topic of the case study)

What is the problem statement for your research report?

What are the objectives of your research(3) derived from your problem statement ?provide a concise statement clearly showing how the objective links to your problem statement .
