Assessment 1
Group (Collaborative Learning Network) Research Assignment and Class Presentation (40%)

Demonstrate an understanding of the dynamic forces changing the nature of markets around the world. Prepare a 2,000 word report and ten-slide presentation detailing supply and demand-side considerations in respect of one of the industries listed below. Report due on the Friday of the week nominated and presentation to be made at the conclusion of each session from session 3 onwards.

Session 12: Banking and Finance

Students will be allocated into CLNs in the first week of the course. Each group will provide the facilitator with first, second and third choices during before the second session. Industries will be assigned in order of when received.

Use desktop research in conjunction with analytical tools and methodologies as discussed in class to identify and summarise the dynamic forces shaping the performance of your chosen industry, with special attention to the strategic considerations that will impact on decision making within a firms seeking to expand operations globally. You will need to align parts of your research with the topics in the course, and use initiative to engage with the topic and provide management information of a quality and depth as would be expected of managers in an executive role.

Presentations can be made live over Collaborate, or can be pre-recorded and made available to the class if timezone considerations preclude the group from presenting together.
