In the interview President Nixon did with David Frost, when confronted with illegal activity it is said that the President said, It is not illegal when the President does it! Why do you think Mr. Nixon would have been able to make such a statement?
As the election of 1972 drew near, it was clear that President Nixon stood to be re elected by an impressive margin. Why would he risk this to attempt something like the Watergate break in?
