Schindler’s List
refers to analysis of the production techniques (the FORM) used to
create meanings in a particular scene or throughout the composition of the film. Micro-analysis may be: (a) analysis of cinematography: lighting and camera choices—camera shots, angles, magical or surrealistic elements; (b) mise-en-scène/staging (the way a scene is presented and arranged; linear vs. non linear stories, flashbacks,); (c) editing (long shot, cuts, jump-cuts,); (d) sound effects (voice over, dialogue, musical score, songs); (e) a combination of all these technical dimensions to create a feeling or a situation of fear, anguish, suspense, anger, pity,empathy, etc.
