Find a scientific study (either on the Internet, in a scientific journal, or in a textbook) and then summarize the study into a paper (the paper does not need to be in a traditional paper format). Make sure you have the original study (with data) and not someone else’s interpretation of a scientific study. Use the following prompts to help you with your summary:
Provide the hypothesis and predictions for your study.
Summarize the experimental design (i.e. how are they testing the hypothesis)?
What variables are the researcher(s) making sure they are controlling for? How do you know?
Summarize the data from the study (you must include one graph – you can take this figure directly from the source but you must explain it in your own words – in other words, interpret what the figure is trying to show the reader).
What statistical analysis are used to test the hypothesis? Why do you think these are being used?
Identify the significant conclusions from the study.
Explain the relevance of the data to the conclusions drawn and any potential issues (e.g., sampling error, biases, etc.).
What did you think of the study and the quality of research? How would you make this study better?
What would you do as a next step in this study?
Provide the citation of your paper at the end of your paper (in proper APA format) and do one of the following: 1)append a copy of your study to the end of your assignment; 2) if your study is available on the internet, provide the web address at the end of your paper
